Kahi Lee is an interior designer, television personality and author. Lee has been called a “Renaissance Chick” and a “Leader of the New School”. She has appeared as a host and design expert on numerous television programs including Design On A Dime (HGTV), Merge (Lifetime), Renovate My Family (Fox), Ultimate Gamer (Spike TV), Freestyle (HGTV), The Rachael Ray Show (CBS), and The Tyra Banks Show among others. And in Asia, Lee hosts the reality competition show The Apartment (AXN/ Sony Pictures Entertainment) which is broadcast in 23 markets to 82 million homes.
Lee easily adapts to the tastes and attitudes of her wide-ranging audience and credits her demographic-defying designs and genuine passion for all things stylish for her television success. In just a few short years, Lee is fast becoming one of the most recognizable faces in lifestyle television programming. Her talents and style sensibility have been featured in USA Today, In Style, In Style Home,Surface, Seventeen, and People among others. Lee was recently named one of the best interior designers in Los Angeles by 944. Lee’s first book Rough Luxe Design published by Farameh Media and distributed by Daab Media is due out in late 2011.
Kahi Lee Lifestyle launched in 2005 and specializes in residential interior design in the United States and Asia. Recent high profile projects include the Malibu home of surf legend Laird Hamilton and wife Gabrielle Reece, a penthouse at the W Hollywood Residences for singer Nick Jonas, the home of Japanese rock star Kyosuke Himuro and The Solair, a 160 million dollar luxury high rise condominium development in Los Angeles. Lee owns and operates a home furnishings and drapery factory in Los Angeles where she designs and manufactures custom one-of-a-kind pieces for her clients.
Art and design have been Lee’s passion since she was just a wee Lee. In fact, design is in her blood. Lee’s mother is a well-known interior designer. Lee attended UCLA where she earned degrees in Art History and English Literature. Lee began her career at the renowned Christie’s Auction House where she worked in the Contemporary Art department and the International Motorcars department. Lee has served as a MUSE advisory board member for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and has penned articles on the subject of art and art exhibition for SOMA and The Book LA.
Kahi Lee was born in Washington DC and raised in Palos Verdes Estates, California. She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and New York. In her spare time, Lee can be found cultivating her shoe collection, dancing the night away or in pursuit of the perfect mac n’ cheese.
